What is full-service residential design?

Full-service design is intended for clients who have larger budgets ($30k+) and are looking to hire a designer TO design and execute their job from start to finish. Full service design is best suited for furnishing and/or construction projects where we are going through all aspects of the design process and end with a styling session that can take up to one week. We work with your architect and or contractor throughout the process.

What is the first step in hiring Joey Snow Design Co. for my PROJECT?

The first step is setting up a complimentary 15-20 minute discovery call through our website or via e-mail. If you are able to, please include pictures and a description of the space(s) you’re interested in working on. You will be contacted within 1-2 business days to schedule a phone call with Joey.

What is your consultation fee?

this service is for full-service design projects only. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN A MORE IN-DEPTH DISCUSSION, WE CAN SETUP A 90 MINUTE IN-HOME CONSULTATION FOR $325 (+$50 FOR NON-LOCAL). THE IN-HOME CONSULTATION IS A GREAT WAY FOR JOEY TO SEE YOUR SPACE AND HEAR ABOUT WHAT IS AND ISN’T WORKING. AFTER YOUR CONSULTATION, YOU’LL RECEIVE A WRITE OF PROJECT COST, TIMELINE, AND BUDGET NECESSARY TO COMPLETE THE PROJECT. SHOULD YOU CHOOSE TO HIRE US FOR FULL-SERVICE design, THE CONSULTATION FEE WILL BE WAIVED AND GO TOWARDS YOUR DESIGN FEE.

How long does the design process take?

No two design projects are alike, thus this can vary greatly, depending on the scope of work. However, on average Full Service design projects take 3-6 months and 9+ months for large construction projects. Please note, these timelines are an estimation and can vary greatly depending on construction and furnishing backorders.

Should I expect delays during construction?

During construction we work closely with Project Manager(s) and/ or your Contractor to determine the scope of the project. This helps us manage expectations and provide timelines to the best of our ability. However, whenever construction is involved it is always good to expect the unexpected. Especially if your project requires extensive construction, such as opening up walls and/or changing the footprint of the space. Projected timelines can change depending on what is discovered upon further inspections, etc.

What if my budget is smaller or I’m only looking for styling/decorating help?

We would recommend a studio session to get started and assess how we can help you! We offer other smaller project services which depend on your scope.

Who is full service furnishing intended for?

this service is intended primarily for projects without construction, other than an occasional built- in. We furnish the space from furniture to textiles and decor, space plan and ensure the color palette and overall design esthetic is executed.

Who are your studio Services intended for?

studio Services are intended for clients who have most of their furniture pieces in place, however they are looking for items to finish the space, such as: decor, artwork, pillows, textiles, etc. to complete the space. during your studio session we can explore other services if your projects is in need of a little extra help.

Can I use my existing decor?

Of course! We can take any existing decor you have into consideration when
making new selections and while styling your space(s). We will discuss what you have and would like to incorporate throughout the design process.

Can I only hire Joey Snow Design Co. if I live within the San Diego area?

No, Full Service Design is best for clients in the San Diego and Orange County area, however for the right project we will travel all over the United states.

What is the difference between Project Management & hiring a Contractor?

The main purpose of project management is to ensure the work being performed is in accordance with the approved design concept and manages the timeline, budget and overall keeps the project running seamlessly. Project management does not warranty or assume liability for work performed by contractors, trades, subcontractors. Project Management does not act as a contractor instructing trades how to perform any work. A contractor is licensed to hire , instruct, and perform labor on the jobsite. They also carry insurance for liability.

Can I hire Joey Snow Design Co. for Project Management?

YES, JOEY SNOW DESIGN CO. OFFERS PROJECT MANAGEMENT SERVICES ON AN HOURLY BASIS. THIS WILL ALLOW US TO ASSIST YOU WITH TIMELINES, BUDGETS, AND OVERALL TAKE THE STRESS OFF IN THE CONSTRUCTION PHASE OF THE PROJECT. we offer this service only in accordance with licensed contractors and trades.

Does Joey Snow Design Co. work with my Contractor?

Of course! Joey Co. Design Co. works with your contractor to ensure the job is running in accordance to the design. We provide your contractor with necessary images, drawings, renders, and materials to complete the job.
